Ethiopia Birhanu | Organically Grown Microlot


Ethiopia is a magical coffee growing region because the coffees can vary and change so drastically from region-to-region. Because of the area's long history of growing coffee and the varietals they use, the coffees are usually very complex and amazingly nuanced.

This coffee was grown and certified organic through a coffee growing cooperative (Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union [YCFCU]). While co-ops are common in Ethiopia, what makes this coffee different is that it all comes from one family farm. Organically grown Ethiopian microlots are practically non-existent so we are very excited to be able to offer this coffee.

This has been one of our favorite washed Yirgacheffes. It has a creamy, buttery body, that is sweet with floral notes, key lime and graham cracker.
